Allenby Biblical Zoo Travelling thru Israel Old City Jerusalem Jewish Quarter & Temple Mount Mahane Yehuda Ma’aleh Levonah Travelling the Negev The City of David is situated on a ridge just south of the Temple Mount, or Mt Moriah.  In Biblical times it was also known as Jebus, the stronghold of the Jebusites that was conquered by David’s Mighty men by entering through a secret shaft used to draw water for the city. Today this shaft and many tunnels dating back to the Canaanite period are open to the visito. In fairly recent days, archaeologists have uncovered irrefutable evidence that the Palace of King David and that of his son Solomon have stood in that area. These excavations are among the most exciting to visit in Jerusalem and we are pleased to be able to share some images from there with you.
